Families with gifted children have many questions.
- Why does my child seem different from other children of the same age?
- Why does my child experience strong emotions?
- How can I help my child to reach his/her full potential?
- Should I be concerned about my child’s asynchronous development?
- Will school challenge my child?
- What is gifted education?
- What distinguishes gifted schools from gifted programs?
- Are independent schools better than public schools?
We offer the following services to families and educators who share or wish to share our experiences in nurturing gifted children. We provide thoroughly researched, evidence-based seminars (backed by both data and organizational experience).
“Gifted individuals are those who demonstrate outstanding levels of aptitude or competence in one or more domains. Domains include any structured area of activity with its own symbol system (e.g., mathematics, music, language) and/or set of sensorimotor skills (e.g., painting, dance, sports).” -National Association for Gifted Children (https://www.nagc.org/resources-publications/resources/definitions-giftedness)
“Gifted children have no greater obligation than any other children to be future leaders or world class geniuses. They should just be given a chance to be themselves…and to have an education that appreciates and serves [their] behaviors.” – Dr. Jane Piirto
At Bellevue Discovery, we assist families as they explore school options, complete applications, choose I.Q. testers, meet admissions directors, and make enrollment decisions. We have a wealth of knowledge about local gifted programs and independent schools, including feedback from our alumni families. Our consulting services benefit current and alumni families as they consider their children’s future schooling. Due to scale and demand, these services are only available to those enrolled or previously enrolled at Bellevue Discovery.
Parent Education Events
